Elite improviser and actor Bob Kulhan will be performing the revival of BING FAITHFUL & THE BING FAITHFUL 5 IN BING FAITHFUL’S VERY MERRY NONDENOMINATIONAL HOLIDAY SPECIAL, conceived by Bob Kulhan. BING FAITHFUL… is a loosely scripted-partially improvised solo performance and honors the history of the holiday crooner within the dark “the show must go on” world of live entertainment. Kulhan, a veteran of the Chicago stages (The Second City (mainstage, understudy), iO/Armando, TUTA,founding member of Baby Wants Candy,) and New York/New Jersey stage (UCB, The PIT, BWC, founding member of Montclair Improv Comedy), tackles one character’s grapple with shock and mortality through the live performance of holiday song.
Moment’s before he is to take the stage with his band, The Bing Faithful 5, holiday crooner Bing Faithful learns all members of his band have died in a horrific bus accident on the way to the show. Yet, Bing is a consummate professional and knows “the show must go on!” at all costs. What follows is one character’s journey through grief and agony as, alone on stage, he attempts to compensate for the bands absence by singing all 5 parts and harmonies to all the classic holiday songs requested by the audience… and occasionally with the audience’s help.
